Anyone else see A Single Man with Colin Firth?  Broke.  My.  Heart.  Broke it in little bits.  I loved it, Colin Firth was superb, the direction was brilliant, the supporting cast was great.  Colin First should get the best actor oscar (I say this also having seen Up in the Air).  Guh, it was one of those movies that you can't stop thinking about afterwards.  The thing that made me love it most, was that even though it was so immensly tragic, parts of it were laugh out loud funny.  Absolutely a brilliant movie.

The book is wonderful as well.  Christopher Isherwood.

A Single Man

ETA  The movie Cabaret was based on his short stories.

Yep, you're right Emily. The book was amazing. Broke my heart too. I'm glad this book is one of the few that got the film treatment it deserves. Colin Firth should definitely win Best Actor, and the art direction was brilliant.
