I found this book, just ok. A 'so-so' for me, though I cannot really pinpoint why I could not fully get into it. Might have just been my mood and this was not the "flavor" I was craving at the moment.

I have not read the first three in the series. Maybe I would have had more invested in the characters if I had.

This is part of a series, but I didn't feel like I missed anything. Elizabeth, who also went by Lizzie when she was younger and with a different crowd, who is renting a house and searching for a cure for werewolfism. She sees it as the only way she can have a normal life and escape from Brody, her "mate." If you would have guessed Brody to be a crazy asshole, you would be correct.
Jensen moved back to town to help out his grandpa and take over his vet practice. His grandparents raised him after the death of his parents, so he is super close to him. Jensen is also mourning the loss of his fiancé, Katie.
This starts out with Elizabeth seducing Jensen. Wouldn't cha know it, but she's in heat and they have unprotected sex (and you know where that leads). She also only wants Jensen. And he only wants her and has a freaky sixth sense when it comes to knowing she is in trouble. There is angst on Elizabeth's part (I can't have you b/c werewolf!). Jensen accepts the existence of the supernatural very easily. Overall, a nice read, but nothing new. Some inconsistencies but I could ignore them.
