What would you think if a man that talked like Jesus, appeared to have the background of Jesus, did the miracles of Jesus, and was repeating the life of Jesus showed up on the earthly scene, insisting that he was Jesus, returned again, in a different way than prophecy fortells? Would you know the scripture enough to even question the man for the truth? This is the dilemma faced by Jonathan Weber when Joshua Ben-Yosef appears on the Israeli scene. The majority of the Christian world is worshiping Joshua as the real thing. But Jonathan just KNOWS something is wrong. Read this book to find out what happens, and also read THE BOOK to KNOW the truth!
Dr. Maier has created an intriguing mystery using Biblical facts to enhance what is taking place in the novel. Having read "A Skeleton in God' Closet" previously helped me to understand the references he makes to the "earlier Case" but it is not necessary to have read the previous book. This book was one of those "I can't put it down until I'm finished" stories.
A thriller that makes on want to think about who and why we believe.
It was a good mystery. I always am trying to figure out how they "get out of it" as I know that what is proposed is not true.
So glad I found this author. Positively riveting! Loved it!
When Joshua Ben-Yosef, an Israeli from Galilee-born in Nazareth to parents Mary and Joseph-begins assembling twelve followers, attracting crowds, and performing miracles, the world takes notice. Could Dr. Melvin Merton-well-known leader and author of end times books-have been correct about the imminent return of Christ? It seems everyone is a believer in this "Messiah"-including Jon's wife, Shannon-especially when Joshua performs the "ultimate sign" by raising his disciple from the dead. Plagued by skepticism, Jon may be the only one who can intervene before the very foundations of the Christian faith are shattered.
