Meet Kate Farrer, a homicide detective with a new partner. And meet her partner, Oliver Parke, a newly made detective - this being only his third case.

The body of a woman who had recently given birth - burned beyond recognition - has been found in building demolished by arson. They team up to solve this murder as well as a suspicious missing teen.

Enter a shady fitness instructor, a swingers' hangout, a wealthy family, a quadriplegic, date rape drugs, corrupt cops and internal affairs agents.

This is a terrific mystery with many twists and an unforeseen conclusion. Kathryn Fox is definitely going on my favorite authors list.
