I just read this and loved it, but it was a bit creepy with the gore factor.  Definitly a twist ending.  Good read, though I'm not sure if I should donate this to my church library or not.  It seemed a bit more extreme than some of his other books.  Thoughts?

Pretty good book.  But, I am getting tired of reading books based on the "Books Of the Histories".

I did think mentioning the Horde was kind of fun.  Though I don't think I'd actually want to read another Circle book.  :)

oh I liked the Circle books!  Don't get me wrong.  But I just read them recently, all in a row.  So I'm kind of burned out on them right now.  :)  I'm really wanting to read "Kiss".

Really?  I thought the Horde was mentioned in Skin because some authors like to connect their characters in each book, even if they aren't relevant to the story.  I may have to go back and re-read House now....or wait for the movie.  :)

We have Skin in our Church library - as well as all of his other books.

However I did withdrawn House from our library as I thought that one was a bit extreme.  It was the only one I had trouble finishing but I did and I guess I enjoyed it even though I thought it was pretty weird.  I'm thinking Frank Peretti had a lot to do with the writing of this book.

I'm looking forward to reading Kiss - glad it was great!

this is the house connection to the Book of History chronicles

Connection to The Books of History Chronicles

House takes place in the same universe as The Paradise Novels (Showdown, Saint, and Sinner). White is created by Marsuvees Black, The Paradise Novel's main antagonist, as is a number of other characters that are in Dekker's Books of History Chronicles. While not being mentioned directly within House itself, it is mentioned in Saint.

not all his books connect (like Blink of an Eye, Three, Obsessed, Adam, his books with Bill Bright) but these all do

Books of History Chronicles

The Circle Trilogy

The Paradise Novels

The Lost Books

Other

I'm definately going to have to check out this book at the library next week when I return The Oath by Peretti. I loved House as well. I agree that some of the books can be a little wierd but being a horror lover, these books do a great job keeping me reading while adding in the Christian message. Let's face it, there are creepy and wierd things in real life going on because of the demons and principalities, evil is all around so I personally think that this is an area that's needed some attention. I've also read the Visitation which is better in book form than the movie.

I am just finshing up Skin.  I like it so far--have only about 100 pgs. left.  My pastors love Ted Dekker, so I think it's okay to put in the church library!!
