This book started very exciting for me then kinda got boring towards the end. It is an old book, but still the plots in it still stand up. Interesting what a Slan and others like a Slan are.

This is one of the greats, though in this time, in this environment it isn't the easiest read.
SLAN was IT when I was a kid in the later fifties scuffling for S-F and finding, well, not much.
Van Vogt had a style much richer and far better developed than most, and AT THE TIME HE WAS WRITING superior to Heinlein, Pohl, the upstart Asimov and many more...
SLAN is a bit tough to follow to start with, frankly the characters aren't all that likeable, the settings seem drab, then... then you turn a page and if you have been paying attention it all snaps together and the shit gets deep.
Invest. Learn. Understand.
