This book is very intense. Tom wants a lover who is totally submissive. His girlfriend Marissa only plays at being submissive so he wants her to go to this castle to get trained in what he expects from a submissive. Marissa goes along because she is afraid of losing her rich boyfriend. Neither one of them is in love with the other one.
Aaron becomes Marissa's trainer at the castle and he starts to resent that he has feelings for her. He humiliates her over and over but cannot break her. He feels she is still playing at being submissive and that she has too much pride.
He approaches Tom to get his permission to shave Marissa's head and generally make her feel unattractive. In the end Tom falls in love with a house slave and buys her. He compensates Marissa financially for her "troubles". Marissa leaves the castle realizing she is not a submissive but she is in love with Aaron.

Somewhat on the heavy side. I personally would consider it middle of the road. Pretty good fast read if you like bdsm books.
