Linda & I watched Nicky's Family last night about a young, successful English stockbroker who cancelled a ski trip in 1938 to visit Czechoslovakia at the request of a friend (his scheduled skiing partner). What he found inspired him to organize a rescue effort that relocated 669 children (mostly Jewish) out of Nazi-controlled areas before the borders were slammed shut.

This movie is available on Netflix instant video and, as Linda said, "Plan on at least 3 1/2 tissues!"

Run a google search of Nicky (or Nicholas) Winton for more information; and if you have access to Netflix, we highly recommend this documentary. Lovers of history that we all are, this movie will add depth and meaning to every WW II book we read from now on.

Kelly, thanks for the recommendation.  I don't have Netflix but the movie is available for streaming or renting on Amazon Prime also.
