I came across the mention of this dish while reading The Courtship by Anna Deforest. I could gather that it was a stew, and Irish dish, and delicious from the book, so I had to look it up for myself and find out what it was. I've added the recipe in the recipe section here. Someone ought to try it! It sounds like a simple, yet yummy, type of beef stew, made with ground beef rather than beef chunks.

I used to make this at least once a week when my husband and I were first married (about 42 years ago).  When we moved, I lost the recipe and haven't thought about it in years. So, thank you for posting it.  And, yes, it is very good.       Karen

I made it last night and it was delicious! It's going to become a regular meal in my house.
