One of Palmer's stories from 1983; I didn't care for it as much but I definitely have a preference for more contemporary stories.
Decent book from a great author!!
Abby Shane has come home to Montana. It's a haven from the nightmares of Manhattan, a place to recover from the trauma that jeopardized her career and left her emotionally scarred.
She's also come back to Cade McLaren, and to the painful memories of their all-too-brief love affair. Yet what is supposed to be a period of healing for Abby, a withdrawal to the quiet life she once knew, is turning into something quite different. With Cade acting as her comforter and protector, Abby realizes she wants more...
When Abby went home to the Big Sky country she'd always loved, she seemed more like a wounded bird than a glamorous fashion model. After what had happened in New York she could never let any man touch her again. But Cade McLaren had never been like any other man. In his powerful arms she began to forget the terror and feel the surge of desire once more. If only his passion burned for love instead of pity. Abby didn't want Cade's charity. She hungered for that other, all-consuming blaze of love she'd sparked in him one summer night a lifetime ago.
Very hard book to get rid of...
I really enjoyed reading this book.
