I'm looking for something similar to this series.

I want something that is not necessarily resolved for the heroine in the first book.

I have tried the JD Robb series, but couldn't get past the second book.

An element of mystery is fine, but it must have some romance as well.

Thanks in advance!!!

I haven't read the Deadly books yet though they're in my TBR. Amanda Quick has 3 books that continue and solve mysteries-Slightly Shady, Don't Look Back, and Late for the Wedding. I enjoyed these but not sure if she continued after those or not since they're fairly recent reads and I'm pretty new to historical.

Thank you Susanna.  I have only read one book by Amanda Quick and remember liking it.

I'm just really in the mood for a series of books, but I want one where the story continues for the same person throughout rather than focusing on a different heroine with each book.  I don't know if these kinds of series are very common in romance.

those 3 I mentioned have Lavinia and Tobias who argue back and forth and she's headstrong, etc and her niece and his brother-in-law sortalike each other and have a side relationship though due to propriety they have to be 'good' whereas lavinia and tobias just have to be discreet! they have sex but it's not focused on as the sole part of the story and there's some humor though a bit and  not the L OL silly kind..hard to explain. but all 3 books feature that couple. I'm just not sure if she added more or went on to other stuff.

ETA: are you wanting a historical mystery series like the Deadly ones or just some differnt series ,c ontemporary or historical that have the same person? trying to think of some series with the same person:

Meg Cabot's 'heather wells series is chicklit mystery and there are 3 in it - size 12 is  not fat, size 14 is not fat either, and big boned. not focused solely on romance though there is someone she's interested in throughout all 3 books that isn't resolved til the end and not even sure about that since I heard there's  a 4th one coming out...

Stephanie Bond's Body Movers series - aggravating at times but pretty good

Harlequin Next has several series (Maggie Skerritt mysteries(think Charlotte Douglas did these) and Stevi Mitman's life on long island can be murder..problem here is 1st book is hard to find and pretty much  necessary to understand the others.

I *think* curtiss ann matlock's 'cold tea on a hot day, at the corner of heartache and something or other, and recipes for easy living are the same family...not 100% sure but I think they are but no m ystery element...
