The Song of Hartgrove Hall by Natasha Solomons traverses past and present, putting its story together bit by bit. The present day story is one of grief, family, and a child. The past is the story of a self-centered young man. I enjoy the story but keep waiting for more - more of a struggle, more of a conflict and more emotion.

My review is a lot shorter: I couldn't get interested. I think this book is best appreciated by those with a musical background that I, alas, do not have.
