I loved this book!!!! I couldn't put it down and I needed a whole box of tissues before I was finished. This is a great story and I highly recommended it! You will laugh, you will cry and you will fall in love with Sophie!
After the tragic death of his wife, Alec Riley struggles to put his life back together. He and his three children are lost in their grief...until Sophie walks unexpectedly into their lives.
Having left her native Czechoslovakia, Sophie has discovered the land which seemed so bright with promise is far from her dream. Sophie, highly educated woman, now finds herself keeping house for Alec and his family.
How can Sophie find peace in her new job? Will God use her gentle spirit to help heal Alec's broken heart?
As Sophie begins her new life with an American family who is devestated by the recent loss of thier mother/wife she finds they need more than a housekeeper. She becomes more important in their lives than she ever expected - especially since she still struggles with english - and soon she discovers they mean much more to her than she had planned for as well.
I wanted to read Sophie's Heart after someone told me it was a favorite of theirs, and I wasn't disappointed - I loved it! It is a wonderful story and is wonderfully told. I tend to pick books apart if they're not well written, but didn't find myself doing that with this one. The writing is detailed enough to make you feel you are really experiencing the story, without seeming overly drawn out. When I finished it, I loaned it to my mom, who is an avid reader, and she said she could hardly put it down. I think this one is a keeper for me, and I'm already looking forward to reading it again sometime.
This is my favorite book from Lori Wick! No matter how many times I read it, i fall in love with it again! I learn something that i didn't know about each time i read it! It's really uplifting and just a great book for readers who love christian romance!
