One of those unique books appealing to all ages. A young girl, Sorrow, cannot talk but she empathizes with a wounded wild crane and tries to help it. A young boy, Pinch, who can and often does talk, Sorrow's good friend, wants to help yet get wounds up with all sorts of problems arising from the situation. A deftly woven plot, handled with humor and thought-provoking drama.
