A book by Kent Haruf... now a movie on Netflix w/ Robert Redford and Jane Fonda, September 29th. |

I really enjoyed his book Plainsong. The sequel was okay but not as good as Plainsong. Have you read this book? Did Haruf die? Redford and Fonda had pretty good chemistry in Electric Horseman. They should be good in this. Last Edited on: 8/25/17 3:21 PM ET - Total times edited: 2 |

Sadly, this is the last book that he wrote, published posthumously in 2015. I, too, enjoyed Plainsong. I have not read this book, but have had this one on my TBR list since it came out. |

I read the book earlier this year and found it a lovely and all too true to life story. The human need to reach for companionship and the equal need for those around us to interfere in our lives, disguising their self-interests in the guise of "in your best interest." Reading the IMDB write up on this and watching the very sparse movie trailer the "penny dropped" for me. I knew that Redford and Fonda had been here in Colorado Springs for a movie filming last year but only now put that together with this book. I'll have to watch the movie just to see our local scenery on the big screen. |

disguising their self-interests in the guise of "in your best interest." for some reason this reminded me of The Whales of August. |
