I hate marking books RWAP.  Could a few of you check to see if this was nice enough, and tell me if/how I can make it better?  Thanks :)

"Thank you for sending me the Spanish version of Walter the Farting Dog.  I have been waiting a long time for this one, because it is a high interest book for my middle school students.

I was so excited to see this come in the mail that I dropped everything to read through it as soon as I got the package open.  Much to my dismay, when I reached page 7, I noticed that only about 1/8 of the page was there.  It was ripped right out of the book!

With the care that you used in packaging this book, I can't imagine that you realized that it was missing the page of text.  Toward the end of the book there is also a chunk of food (?) stuck to the page.  I will be happy to send you pictures if you would like.

I can't use this book at school because of the tear (and the food). This does not meet the PBS guidelines:  (From the help documents)
"Pages:
•No torn or chewed/gnawed pages
◦yes, that does say "chewed/gnawed".  That means no pet-chewed (or human-chewed) books.
•No loose or missing text pages"

I would appreciate it if you will return my credit to me so that when my turn comes up on the wishlist again it can be re-ordered.  Please respond to this pm by December 11th so that I can mark the problem resolved in the transaction archive.

Thank you in advance for your time and cooperation in this matter.

Karen

I think it sounds just fine the way that it is. Very polite, but still clear about the issue. Good luck!

Sounds fine to me too. I don't how you could be any clearer than what you wrote. Let us know what the sender says. Good luck!

I agree.  I think you worded that very well--and hope you get a pleasant response from the sender.

Thanks everyone!  I will let you all know how it goes.

My last RWAP (before this) was of  the "that's the way I received it-Don't order from me again" variety.  I hate that kind of response, and I always dread marking a book RWAP because of it.    We'll see what happens!

:)
