First of all, I love Paperback Swap. I listen to audio's and don't know what I would do without it. Here's my question, why do people put this on their request. I used to think it was because they wanted to resell them, but then I started wondering. This is a request for an audio book, (not a regular book) or is that this is just the disclaimer they have on all requests. I get why you would have that on a regular book, not sure about audios. Just curious about it. **I am not willing to accept ex library books. No books with water damage or mildew/mold or smell of mildew.***

This person has a RC or Requestor Condition set to apply to all of their requests, not just traditional bound books. There is a way to selectively apply your RC, but this member either does not know that, or just wants it applied to every thing. Since you are trading an audio book, as long as it meets the site standards, you are good to go!

Having just been the recipient of a very moldy audio book, I can verify that your member means what s/he says. It is possible to get water damaged audio books, as well as ex-library audios, and they don't want them. As to why ... there aren't a whole lot of people looking to resell here, since that violates the Terms of Service. Folks are usually just looking for books that meet their needs, and in some cases those needs include asthma, allergies or other issues which make moldy books (I know, no one should send moldy books to start with) a hazard. |

Its probably a blanket request on all of their requests, but since it is there you need to be able to meet it. If the audio you have is an ex-library or the box it comes in has sustained water damage, you would want to deny the RC. If your audio meets those two requirements, you can send it along. |

Thank you so much for your input, I will send the book. I've really not had any problems in the almost 2 years I've been doing this, but have gotten some very scratchy audio's and one that was cracked. I had already said it was ok so didn't go back and change it to a problem. I'm really not that up on my Paperback Swap website, LOL. Love it anyway..just posted 3 audio's last night and already have a request for 2 of them. Thanks again for your feedback! |
