The premise is that stiff, 31 year old actuary, Kendall Clarke finds out that her equally bland fiance Marvin has been having an affair with another coworker, and that coworker is pregnant. This is hours before Kendall is supposed to be awarded at an association dinner. Reeling from the blow, Kendall gets locked out of the room in her slip. Of course, she sneaks into another guest's room at the hotel when she sees 3 of her bosses walking down the hallway, and through a misunderstanding ends up pretending to be the girlfriend of stock car racer Dylan Hargreave at his ex-wife's wedding.

What a hokey beginning! I was almost going to write this off as pretty cliched. Kendall wears bland suits in various shades or beige and brown, quotes statistics and calculates risks in her head, while feeling like she's not spontaneous enough. She acts completely out of character to prove something to her ex, and spends most of the evening in her underwear at a wedding?!

But - crazy as this start was, about midway, the book got better. I ended up thinking: hey I may actually kinda like some things in this book. So overall: Alright.

A really sweet romance around a NASCAR driver trying to get his ex-wife to stay with her new husband, and a reserved actuary, who was recently jilted and decides to enjoy life for a few weeks.

I am not a Nascar fan, so I was skeptical when I started reading this book. Surprisingly, I really enjoyed it.

A great quick read based in the NASCAR world. The author even wrote Carl Edwards into the story!

This is a Harlequin NASCAR romance. Sure isn't like the regular Harlequin books. It's an excellent read! Highly recommended.

Fun quick book to read especially if you like Nascar. I finished it in a day.

It takes a Nascar hottie, Dylan Hargreave, to pull Kendall Clarke out of her shell. She begins to feel sexy and confident with him then makes the mistake of falling in love with him. It takes a little longer for him to figure out the love part.

Fun story about a girl who is paid to pose as a NASCAR driver's girlfriend.

This book was a lot of fun for a NASCAR (and Carl Edwards fan which was the reason I picked it up in the first place). I really enjoyed the story because it wasn't the "most popular girl in high school gets big time famous hottie" sort of thing. Kendal was a bit unrealistic at times but then again I don't know and actuaries. Fun, quick summer read for the pool or beach.

One minute Im locked out of my hotel room, and the next

Dylan Hargreave thinks Im an actress paid to pose as his girlfriend at a North Carolina society wedding. How did this happen to me, of all people? Kendall Clarke, award-winning actuary, the veritable shining star of number crunchers who, just hours ago, learned her responsible fiancé (sorry, ex-fiancé) called off our wedding because hed gotten one of my colleagues pregnant. What are the odds?

Dont tell me youve never heard of Dylan Hargreave. Celebrity NASCAR driver? People magazines Sexiest Man of the Year? Those eyes. That smile

Forget sensible! Ive assessed the riskand Im taking it! I usually keep the brakes on, but as of now Im taking a vacation. From me.

Kendall Clarke was having a tough night when it should have been the best time of her actuary life. Instead her fiance gives her some bad news and breaks up with her and then shes mistaken for a race car drivers date..to his ex-wifes wedding. Suddenly her boring world turns upside down and she likes it.

Dylan Hargeave has been going through a tough patch with his racing, but his luck seemed to change with Kendall at his side. Her kisses seem to help him do well racing and being by his side keeps his ex-wife a safe distance away. Life is going well with her as his pretend girlfriend and he dont even need to make any commitments, right?

The author takes the reader for an exciting ride in the NASCAR world. Real life driver, Carl Edwards even makes a few cameo appearances in the book. The characters were realistic enough that its easy to get irritated at a few of them and endeared to others. Great story.
