Thanks for sharing the article.......I think it would be the conservatives and Catholics who want to keep it 'St Patrick's Day'.

It has been so fun to send and get cards for some of the same people I have done the Christmas card exchange over the past years.

I, personally, dislike the term "St. Paddy´s Day," and I am not a liberal at all.  The term does sound disrespectful to me—but I am not Irish (not from Ireland and not of Irish heritage), so I may very well not be in the know on this kind of cultural thing. I also dislike it when folks say "Turkey Day" for "Thanksgiving," because although turkey does figure large in the holiday meal, it´s not the reason for the celebration. Anyway, that may simply be my own natural crotchity-ness coming through, and it´s definitely just my own un-asked-for opinion. lol

Happy St. Patrick´s/Pat´s/Paddy's Day, everyone!

An Irish Toast (supposedly):

There are four things you must never do: lie, steal, cheat, or drink.

But if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love.

If you must steal, steal away from bad company.

If you must cheat, cheat death.

And if you must drink, drink in the moments that take your breath away.

~Brianne Kelly Darragh

Happy St Patrick's Day to all. Beautiful toast, Robin.

Thank you for all your sentiments and cards.

It has been a pleasure to moderate this swap.

Luck of the Irish to you, Lynn

Thank You Lynn for putting together the swap this year.

My mom and I was in downtown Chicago this morning (very cold!) to see the Chicago River dye green.

Towana,

I wish I could have seen the river dyed green. My daughter is visiting Chicago next weekend and running in the Shamrock Shuffle

Shamrock Shuffle is one of the popular run/walk races that occur early in the year.  Sunday for the race it wil be sunny and in the 30's in the morning.
