I couldn't find a current thread on this, and it's pretty tedious to browse through USPS's unsorted list of stamp denominations (rant), what are good combinations of currently available stamps to get $2.23.

I know that $1 + 3 x .41 will work, but don't know if 41 cent stamps are still available.

Thanks

another idea you can go to the A PC (the automatic postal center and print your stamps that way (even in advance) for any amount

and then you will have the stamps already and another plus for this is that one you place that stamp on your package you can even

drop it *any* blue mailbox (if it will fit) you dont have to return or take your package to the post office

Last I looked on the USPS site (earlier this week) they still had 41 cent stamps.

I am using 5 x $0.42 plus a second ounce stamp ($0.17) which I know gives them an extra 4 cents but it lets me keep stamps in convenient denominations (that I can use for more than 1 purpose).

Yes - some of the 41 cent stamps are still available.  Check with your local PO to see if they still have any in stock.

My ruiral post office never has $1.00 stamps so i get 84 cent stamps:

Try (2 ) .84 + .43 + .10 + .03 =  $2.24

I finally remembered to check.....

I can get 23 cent stamps if anyone wants some. If you mail a check made out to the USPS, I will mail them to you. (I can get the $1.00 ones too if you want them, Larry D.)

For media mail packages up to one pound, I usually put for stamps:
.94 (2) + .26 + .10

It ends up being  one cent over the 2.23 rate.

I often refer to the stamp calculator page at:
http://www.fancyham.com/stamp_calculator/

You enter in the $ amount of the stamps you have and the required $ amount you need for postage.
It then displays how many stamps you need to send your item in the mail.
