I've been looking at using higher value stamps on my send-outs, so that I don't have to plaster the package with smaller stamps. I assume that, since I can send out media mail with .41, first class stamps, that I could use the higher value first class stamps media mail, too.

Does anyone know if I can actually do this? The .90 stamps that I've been looking at have a little airplane in the corner, if that makes a difference. When I tried asking the fellow at the post office, his eyes started glazing over.

Yes, Stacy, those stamps can be used for media mail as well as first class. Just be sure to mark your book 'Media Mail'. That's where the distinction comes in for the lower rate. Anything not marked media will automatically be handled at the higher 'First Class' rate.

Terrific! I was hoping that was the case. :)
