Another great book by Kurland! Meet Kendrick De Piaget who was burned by a Buchanan woman when he was alive - he is now a ghost who is haunting a castle that has been passed down in the Buchanan family for centuries. His goal is to scare any Buchanan who inherits the castle and it has been working. Next walks in Genevieve Buchanan, an american who just inherited the castle. Kendrick finds that Genevieve is no push over and won't scare easily.
A great love story about learning to trust and trying to make love work when one of the people is a ghost! If you are in the mood for a sweet romance that leaves some things to the imagination, then I recommend you try out Kurland's work. I have loved every story that I have read and highly recommend this book and others by her.
I hate people who give a book away. Most of the time I don't even read the back of the book. So I will let you discover the details.. This is a really good book. Get this...big beautiful highlander ghosts haunts the last remaining relative of his enemy...his cheatin fiance from 800 years ago...give or take a few hundred years. What can a ghost and a mortal do.. you have to read it to believe it.
I'd been trying to get a hold of this book for years - the only thing I hadn't read by Lynn Kurland. She's amazing and this book is wonderful. It's so romantic it's over-the-top, but somehow, LK does this soooo beautifully, that it comes off as charming in the extreme, rather than sickening. ;) Highly recommended!
Lynn Kurland writes one of my favorite series of books - following the de Piaget family through time. This one is about Kendrick - a thirteenth-century knight, betrayed & killed by his betrothed & her accomplice, cursed to spend eternity haunting Seakirk castle. Bent on destroying his betrothed's line of descendants, believing it is the only way to send his spirit on it's way, he has whittled them down through the centuries to the last one - Genevieve Buchanan. What he didn't count on was falling in love with her.
Kurland is a master painter of gorgeous, arrogant Highland warriors. She works her magic touch as Genevieve unwittingly disarms & charms Kendrick. The plot twist at the end seems a little rushed, and Genevieve's "innocence" is carried a little too far in my opinion, but all-in-all, a very good read and in keeping with Kurland's excellent story telling ability.
One of my favorites of all time. I've read it at least 3 times.
This was an ecellant story.
Lynn Kurland is such a wonderful escape writer. I really enjoy her books when I want to be transported somewhere romantic in a different time!
OMG This book is awsome, Knights in Shining Armor, ghost, love and intrigue EXCELLENT!!!
Entertaining, however not Kurland's best, in my opinion. The premise is wonderful yet the heroine, Genevieve, quickly got on my nerves. Her excessive naivete became annoying rather than charming.
Genevieve Buchanan's life is on track and running smoothly when a surprise legacy derails her plans. What is she going to do with a castle in England?
After 700 long years, Kendrick de Piaget can finally have his revenge on the last of the Buchanans and break the curse that has bound him to Seakirk Castle for centuries. For a ghost, Kendrick has a lot of money and power; he even has his own timid attorney, Bryan McShane. Kendrick is unaware that Bryan also serves another master, someone who frightens him even more than Kendrick does.
Despite death threats uttered by a raging thirteenth-century ghostly warrior, spunky Genevieve survives her first night in the castle and is determined to stay. After centuries of threatening and destroying the Buchanan dynasty, Kendrick doesn't quite know what to make of Genevieve.
After they were murdered, Kendrick and his loyal colleagues Royce and Nazir were doomed to spend the centuries trapped in limbo. If Kendrick can get Genevieve to sign away her rights to the castle, this should break the curse and let him rest in peace. As time passes, first a tentative friendship, then an overpowering love binds Kendrick and Genevieve together. Can they build a future together despite their inability to physically touch? And what of McShane's evil master; what dark plans does he have for both Genevieve and Kendrick?
Very enjoyable - Lynn Kurland brings the past to life.
I did not want it to end!!! A truly romantic story for anyone who would like to have a knight in shining armor sweep them off their feet.
From the back cover:
Daydreaming of her wonderful castle, she imagined that it contained a handsome, brave knight -
Suddenly her eyes flew open. She scrambled over her chair, looking with alarm at what was quivering in front of her, only an inch away from where her toes had dangled off the edge...
It was a sword.
"I'll not miss a second time." A deep voice grated from behind her.
She whirled around.
It was her knight.
It was also her ghost.
Genevieve Buchanan inherited a castle - and a ghost to go along with it. But Kendrick de Piaget was no typical ghost. He was a handsome and infuriatingly arrogant thirteenth-century knight. At first he wanted to frighten Genevieve, though she was more charmed than scared by his ghostly tricks. But when his thoughts turned to wooing her instead, Genevieve had to face her greatest fear: falling in love.
This book was a lot of fun! It is a light-weight, get-away adventure, definitely not my usual reading! I've enjoyed reading it twice. I like the time travel element in the book.
I had high hopes for this one. I read somewhere that this is considered the best romance ever written. If you loved it, good for you. I like certain romance authors. Like Kleypas. I was reading paranormal stuff 10 years before it was cool. But there has to be some sort of rules. The ghost did ridiculous things. It was just too silly. I just couldn't stick it out and finish this one.
Sweet romantic story about a handsome ghost and the pretty lady who tames him. I enjoyed the story and recommend this book if you are a romantic at heart.
I love this author. Great romance with a little suspense, action & humor thrown in. Good clean fun, all around!
This is one of my favorite Lynn Kurland books.

Very Enjoyable Reading! :)
Genevieve Buchanan inherited a castle--and a ghost to go along with it...
The first half of this book was absoultely great, then it just became really slow then slightly redeemed itself in the end.
Another great book by Lynn Kurland!
My second-favorite Lynn Kurland! (My Heart Stood Still has number 1.) Very sweet story. Love it.
My favorite book of Lynn Kurland! Genevieve and Kendrick's story.
Genevieve inherits a castle, and a ghost who comes with it. Kendrick has been haunting the castle for hundreds of years,
What happens when the two meet is a delightful story.
