My daughter asked me earlier if we could start school on Monday. My first thought was hmm, what is wrong with her, lol!

but I guess we will start slowly and work into it.

what are you doing with your 4 year old? I have a 4 year old too and have not figured out much beyond letters, numbers and colors.

We're starting as soon as our books and DVDs (Abeka Academy) arrive.  My DS is chomping at the bit to get started!!

I know lots of homeschool kids who are eager to start school (or who did the very first week of August) simply because they were bored and wanted next year's summer to start earlier.  I know I always started the day my books arrived!

With my four-year old I will somewhat follow the letter of the week ideas. I trying to use alot of hands on things. I love books by Kathy Ross and I will be using her titles "Letter Shapes" and "Letter Sounds". We will lapbook each letter with mini books, games etc.  He knows his colors and almost all of the  letters but we will be working on the sounds. I want him to learn his address, phone number and his numbers.

Maybe someonw else has some ideas for us :)
