This may be an obvious answer and you'll get it quick. My question is just, what is "Status: Accepted"? I see it a lot on books I request, but I don't think I personally ever get that option. It could be simply that not only do I always accept my books, but I immediately pick when I can mail them. Is it possibly that other people are not doing the same? Are they just "sitting" on the request? I didn't even think the system would let you do this- if you click "I can mail" then don't you immediately have to say when? Or are these people clicking "I can mail" then closing out of PBS or something? I always get the "I can mail" and then "Will mail by X day" screens. I sometimes see "Status: Accepted - Printed" but even then, why does it not say "Will mail by..."?

If you click on the "I can mail withing 2 days" it just says accepted.  They only ask for a date if you select "I can mail later"

After they print the wrapper it changes to "States:Accepted - Printed"

Hope that helps!

ETA: They're not "sitting" on the request.  After clicking "I can mail within 2 days", they actually have 5 days to click mailed.  I have never used the mail later, always within 2 days

Ooooh, ok. I often click "I can mail within 2 days" and so indeed I'm probably giving out the "Status: Accepted" too!

Oh, actually, wait. I just checked. One book I requested on 1/16 says "Status: Accepted." But that's past the "2 day but it's really 5 day" period. So, we're back in the "I don't get it" land.

When was it accepted?  They have a few days to actually accept, and then the 5 day mail thing.  It should tell you the date they accepted the request.

ETA: It will only tell you that if you click on details after it's marked mailed.  Just above the accepted thing it should have the date requested.  What does that say?

Man I'm so not with it today LoL.  You requested on 1/16, but that might not be the date they accepted the request.  If they accepted on 1/18 or something they still have a day or 2 to mark mailed.  It's also possible they did mail but forgot to mark it.  So, if it times out send them a PM before ordering another JIC it's already on the way

Ah, ok. It was requested 1/16, but accepted 1/20. So, if there's the "will mail in 2 but really 5" day period, it's still well within that. (FYI: It hasn't been marked mailed, but I CAN click on the details button anyway. I don't think it's restricted to only after it was marked mailed.)

Wow, really?  I've never tried to check details before it's mailed.  I'll have to check that out.

ETA:  You know, before I posted that last one I went to check for a details button on my account page.  Didn't see it.  Maybe I just thought it wasn't there so I blocked it out LoL.  I just looked again, and sure enough there is a "Details" button staring me right in the face!  LoL

Hope you get your book soon! :)

It looks like they didn't accept it right away. Either that or the 1st person declined the request for some reason and it passed on to someone else.
