Any authors you can recommend in steampunk sci-fi? I went to the SP website and it looks like it gives an alpha list of everybody and everything sci-fi. I also like post-apocalyptic and social commentary sci-fi, not into space opera. Thanks! |

The first one that pops into my head is Gibson and Sterling's The Difference Engine. That led me to a tag. http://www.paperbackswap.com/tags/index.php?type_id=1&tag_id=36737&l=10 Oh. I should mention that this book was NOT one of my favorites from Gibson. Last Edited on: 5/22/09 6:49 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

I found the first mention I'd seen of "Steampunk" on the wikipedia page for Science Fiction Genres. It looks like something I'd like to explore, but doesn't look like there are a lot of authors who do this kind of sci-fi. Thanks for the tips. I've been enjoying looking up the authors mentioned here and adding books to my reminder/wish lists. |
