This 1st Edition of the NEW "Data Book" has been completely updated to provide readers with material that they will find useful in the present decade. The term "hydrographic" has been dropped in favor of "Water Resources" to be more consistent with today's needs.
Leupold & Stevens, Inc., was founded in 1907 by Fred Leupold, a German immigrant, who settled in Portland, Oregon. The firm, known as Leupold & Volpel, manufactured and repaired surveying instruments.
This 3rd edition brings the "Data Book" up-to-date. Photographs have been added for the Stevens Tide Gage and Stevens Pulse Counting Recorder. The chapter on Telemetry has been revised. We have deleted the chapter on Circular Dimensions. Two table have been added for the V-notch weirs--one for 30* and the other for 120*. Several minor copy changes have been made, such as changing the old term "counterpoise" to "counterweight", which is more commonly used now.« less
