Someone told me that book 2 was better than book one. 'Better' is a relative term. Both books are full of swearing, carnage, and nasties. The bits of cute in between do make this book better than the one that came before, but not really all that much. I have no wish to read book three, despite the dangling ending in book two.

Basic plot: Douglas' younger brother Scott gets Douglas' half-fairy baby to care for, even though Scott is suffering from PTSD and can barely function. Fortunately he has hob-goblins and brownies helping. Douglas' older sister Bridie goes to Scotland to find out what really happened to Grandma McLaren, as she knows Douglas couldn't have murdered her. Lots of vulgarity, blood and death happen along the way.
