I just ran across this author in the display of recommended reading books on the main page. I noticed he has written a series with "Orchid" in the titles (I saw 3) that have a woman and her dobie. I noticed when I searched him that he has a LOT of books. I am not sure if I need to start with his first or if it is ok to just start in with this character in the Orchid series?  What are your suggestions?

Thanks!

Stuart Woods writes 3 or 4 diff series. The ones with Orchid in the title are the Holly Barker series. You can read them out of order, they can stand alone. Actually all his series are like that. The longest one is his Stone Barrington series. Of course its always better to read a series in order, but its not as important with this author. The Holly Barker srries ends, and she ends up in a couple(that I've read so far) of the Barrington series.

happy reading!

Hilary

I've read several of his books, all out of order, and they were fine as stand-alone stories.

I agree that you can read Stuart Woods books out of order.  What's interesting in some of the later books is that the characters crossover into the other series.
