Hi everyone and Happy Friday. :) I got a nice PM from another member about my sticker sharing question/idea in the April RAOK thread and thought I'd make it a thread of its own. I do enjoy stickers, they brighten up both home-made and store bought cards and in general are fun to find. I've been glad to be able to pass some of my extras on to some of you already. :)It does seem like stickers are a popular RAOK request. I was thinking perhaps we could either use this thread to do informal exchanges or maybe even a secret santa sticker exchange of some sort. Lol, that was a tongue twister.

Depending how many of us are interested, I would be happy to organize a secret or (not) exchange. We could also do this as a sticker train (like coupons). Please jump in with suggestions. :)

I look forward to meeting more sticker fans and spreading some cheer that way.

Enjoy your weekend!

Awesome and thank you all for wanting to spread some sticker cheer. :) I've never done a sticker train but have participated in a variety of card exchanges, including group ones (one package of cards of whatever type sent to one person to mail as a package to a recipient). We can do this however all of you want, I just think it will be fun and way to make some sticker friends on here, too. :) Should we maybe start by each listing a few sticker preferences or types we are always trying to find? Please do include if you need any stickers to come from a smoke/or pet free home too so we'll know. I will check back later. Thanks again.

I love the idea of a sticker exchange but would prefer doing full sheets of stickers instead of loose, tiny stickers. I used to belong to a birthday sticker exchange and everyone would send one sheet of stickers to each person under their birthday month. That way say 12 people were in the exchange, each person would get at least 11 sheets of stickers on their birthday month. Of course if no one had a birthday one month, no stickers would go out. Or if there were more than one birthday in a month, then each person would get stickers so you might have to send out more than one sheet in a months time. But when your birthday month comes around, you'd get a sheet from each person in the exchange.

And each person specifies the kind of stickers they want or don't want, so each person gets the type they really can use.

Like me, I love angels, flowers, tropical, seasonal, glittery, and those with clear backgrounds.

Vicki, I love the idea of doing this as a birthday gift. Maybe we could also each include a post-card from our home-town with the sticker sheet so it's a little more of a gift? Most CVS and Rite Aid's have post-cards for only 30 cents each. Lol, I also realize I live in LA which probably offers a whole lot more of those types of stores than some of you, just a thought. I do agree that a full sheet or at least larger stickers would work better than the small ones. So far there are 7 of us. Has anyone already had their birthday this year? My own is coming up in mid May. If we did birthdays, I would want to try and be sure those who have already celebrated weren't forgotten. Another thought for January-April birthdays is we can send those people stickers on their half birthdays, add a little extra celebrating that way. What do you think?  I would be happy to try and organize this. I do admit though to having no clue how to make any type of spread-sheet but if each of you were to PM me your email address, I could send a group e-mail out that way with info. I think first thing if we do this birthday wise, is when is everyone's birthday? :) Mine is Monday, May 12th.

Hey Everyone!  =0)

This sounds like it will be really fun!  I really like the post card idea also.   My birthday was on March 21.  I love all stickers but my favorite are made by Mrs. Grossman.  I especially love girly girl stickers: flowers, beach, glittery, halloween,  Mary Engelbreit, etc.  I always could use Christmas stickers too.  I use stickers on most everything I send out in the mail so this will be great!  What types and designs are you all looking for? The Mrs Grossman factory is in Petaluma, CA  so this might be a great excuse for me to go and visit...LOL  cheeky

Hi Jennifer :) Do you live in Petaluma? I'm asking because this summer I hope to be able to drive up to Arcata, CA to visit a friend. If I did, it sure would be fun to visit a sticker factory. If you or anyone has been there, please share whether the $7 (that was the price this morning when I checked) is worth it. You have to make a reservation but it sounds like the tour is 50 minutes long and you do get free stickers along the way. http://mrsgrossmans.com/pages/tour-the-factory

I've gotten one PM about this, I will start putting together a master list. How about if the deadline to sign up is Monday, April 28th? That allows two more weeks. I will try to e-mail everyone by the end of April. I think (please add away :) to get this started all I would need is your name and mailing address. Birthday and if you have already had your birthday this year or if it will be in the next two weeks, please let me know if you would like a half birthday sticker gift or at some other time. Most of all, sticker preference and whether you would prefer them to come from a smoke free home. I am excited about doing this and thank you all for joining in. Here's to new stickers and friends, too. :)

Hi Mona!  =0)

I actually live in Sacramento, CA but I have been on this tour twice and my children and I really enjoyed it!!  You do get a baggie of stickers and they have a little quiz that they do with everyone and you can win more stickers.  After the tour you can visit the gift shop and that is fun too.  They have discounted stickers to purchase and such.  I think the price is worth it.  smiley

Thank you for that info Jennifer! It does sound fun. If I do take a trip up North, I'll have to try and get there. :)

Wow..how cool! Wish I could go to the sticker factory.:)

Loving the ideas so far. My birthday is July 2--so if I could get some cool fireworks stickers I would be so happy!

I haven't seen postcards at my CVS so I am going to have to investigate further when I have more time ;).

Happy Tuesday, everyone. I hope your day has been happy in some way. :) I have received info from three members on sharing stickers, thank you! :) After talking with a couple members and thinking about it, I'm wondering if we should simply send stickers to one another now? I would feel awful if anyone chose not to participate because of the longer term commitment of needing to send stickers to each person on their birthday throughout the year. That can also be confusing to remember. If you want to go ahead and do that that is your choice and very sweet, but will be up to you. :)

Perhaps towards the end of the year we can meet back here and plan a holiday sticker exchange, that way all stickers will be sent out at the same time but we can still spread some holiday cheer to one another. How does that sound? For now, please send me your info by next Tuesday, April 22nd. I will do my best to e-mail everyone the next day.

Thank you so much and here's some care bear cheer--these are some of my favorite stickers--love those cute bears, the original ones that is. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/61vnXuctIVL.jpg

I'm definitely on board and love the bd idea.I am not picky on stickers I like any kind. However I get most of mine at the dollar tree or walmart so can't guarantee specific ones with my swaps but will try to send as close to your likes as I can. :)

Just a reminder - RAOK rules do not allow for 'swaps' - everything is given freely, asking nothing in return. - you cannot offer to give something for something you receive in the RAOK. I've talked with Mona about moving this to the Games forum, where they swap all kinds of things.  It's a great idea, just needs to be done in the correct spot.  Games is where we always direct members when swap ideas come up.  PM her if you are interested. Maybe  you can get this up and running over there!

I love the idea of a sticker exchange  :)  My daughter loves making phone "cases" and she uses stickers to make them look nice as well. I would love to be part of this sticker exchange!!
