Everyone is most welcome aboard our sticker train! I am so excited to be posting this on here, thank you Irene :) A smaller group of us through Good Reads have done two sticker trains so far and it is time for train #3. I am so thankful to be back here on PBS and would love to extend our passenger list, spread more sticker fun and cheer.
Please bear with me as this explanation of how our last 2 trains have worked is a little long. I hope it makes sense. Please feel free to post or PM me any questions or suggestions. I want everyone to feel welcome and included. As a lot of you know, I do love stickers of all kinds. I use them to decorate cards and packages and have a collection of Christian stickers that I enjoy using as an extra way of sharing and reminding others of God's love. From "I Wish" section on here I know a lot of you love stickers, too, so let us join together aboard a sticker train.
For a fun example. Pretend that the train participants are Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, and Roo. They are listed in geographical order West to East. Pooh has agreed to begin the train and will start a card for Roo. This will be a way for Roo to receive one card signed by all of his friends! Cards are welcome to be completely home-made, store bought and decorated, whatever you want. All train participants will eventually receive a card! More on that to come.
Back to our friendly bear Pooh. Pooh has decorated a card for Roo and written a message inside for him, too.
*Brief detour to say I did post about the card part of the train in the "I Wish" section for this month. I will be starting this train and the card will be for our friend LarkspurJane. LarkspurJane is not on PBS anymore but I'm sure most of you here in RAOK remember her. Also, to anyone who does not want to do the sticker/mailing part of the train but who would like to send LarkspurJane a hello, please PM me your message for her by Sunday, June 7th. I will print out all messages and include in her card. If you have a preference on font or font color let me know that, too. :) If you are coming aboard the train no need to PM me a message as you will sign the actual card. I wanted to try and broaden the range of cheer for her.
Okay, back to Pooh and friends. Pooh has finished Roo's card. His next step is to sort through all his many stickers! Please know there is no set or required amount expected. This is sincerely meant to be all for fun and spreading cheer. We do ask that every train rider contribute at least one sheet so that there will be variety for the next person to choose from. Pooh ends up donating 3 full sheets and 2 half sheets of stickers to the train. (Half sheets can be bigger sheets cut in half or sometimes I will get stickers that have repeats so easy to cut in half :)
Pooh is ready mail off the train! He lets his three friends know and sends it off to Piglet, the first stop (Piglet is the friend closest to Pooh in location). Geography is not my best skill. I would appreciate any map/route help. Trying to be sure for example no train starts with me here in LA goes to someone in NE, then goes back to WA, and ends up in FL. We want a straight and clear route :) Routes will be posted and also included within the package. If each of you, as we go along could cross out your name and address on the list that would be awesome.
So in a couple days Piglet gets the train! He lets Pooh, Tigger, and Roo know he has gotten it and does the same when he sends it off. This not all intending to be pushy or type A-ish just easier to keep track of where the train is :) Piglet adds a greeting of his own to Roo's card that Pooh started. Then it is fun sticker time for Piglet. he gets to look over the 3 full and 2 half sheets Pooh contributed and began the train with. From those stickers, Piglet chooses to keep for himself 1 full and 1 half sheet. (For our sticker train, no one will know any of these #'s in terms of how many stickers each person took and contributed. I included #'s just for this example's (I hope) clarity. It would be fun to hear about which stickers all of you choose :) Piglet, from his sticker collection, contributes at least one full sheet onto the train. He then mails everything off to Tigger! Tigger goes through the same card signing and sticker process. He mails off to Roo, the train's final stop. Roo receives his card, he has a big smile to have gotten greetings from 3 of his friends at one time. Of course he has fun with the stickers, too. Train 1 (of Pooh, Piglet, Tigger and Roo) has finished.
Roo, because he was the train's card recipient will go ahead and start the next card and train 2. That card's recipient would be either Pooh, Piglet or Tigger. Roo can put all their names into his favorite summer floppy hat, choose Pooh because it was Pooh who began his own card, doesn't matter. The important thing we want to do is be sure no one is left out of getting a card! This is another reason it is easier to have a clear train route that all aboard are kept updated on.
All types of stickers are welcome. I personally prefer no smelly (scratch n sniff or stinky, as they are sometimes called) stickers simply because they have a way of making everything else included in the package smell! I loved them as a kid not so much now. I also am aware some folks like me have the smoke free book RC on their conditions. To me that is similar to the stinky stickers on aboard our train as some riders may have smell allergies. That said, should you have some super duper stinky stickers that are too cheerful to not share, of course, they are welcome, please know that. This is not at all intended to be about me. It is for everyone :)
Please post on here or PM me your interest on coming aboard this train by Sunday, June 7th. Please also remember to PM me your mailing info should I not already have it. You have my promise that will only be shared among train riders and not used for any other purpose. I will keep a train passenger list updated and be sure and let everyone aboard know the final crew. We will then agree on a train route, I can do my best to post what I think makes sense Sunday night and please any of you tell me if another way is quicker, I could mail off the train on Monday.
Thank you so much for reading through all this. I hope the Pooh example brought a smile to your day. Please remember any questions or suggestions most welcome, always. And if you are not interested in swapping stickers/doing the snail mail part but would like to send a message of cheer to LarkspurJane, please do PM or e-mail me that by Sunday as well.
I better post this before it gets even longer! :p Thanks everyone and for welcoming me back to RAOK on here, too. Hugs and God Bless You.

Kim, one person sends stickers to someone else, they take a few sheets and contribute about the same amount then send it on to the next person. At the end, one person gets a card and a bunch of stickers. Then that person would start a new train.
'Morning everyone. Kim, it does read complicated even to me! It makes more sense (I hope :) once you are doing it. Or try in your mind substituting the character names for names of some of us instead. That did help me when we first began this. I chose to use character names in the example for fun and also privacy. Please join us if you'd like and any questions at all post or ask. :)
Thank you Rebecca for the great and concise explanation! Glad you are on board.
We have 7 riders so far. Who else is coming? Please remember to PM me a message for LarkspurJane if you are not interested in the sticker/mail part.
Happy 4th Day of June! :)
Me, three. :D Thanks everyone for joining aboard and spreading cheer. To those of you that have yet to sign up please do so by tomorrow night. Also, anyone who (does not want to come aboard the sticker train) but who would like to PM me a greeting (and your font color choice) for LarkspurJane please do so by tomorrow night as well. I appreciate so much the messages I have gotten for her and will add them to the card. Hugs to all.
