Happy Saturday, everyone! First and foremost my heartfelt and sincere THANKS to so very many sticker train riders over the years for keeping our trains chuggling happily along the tracks for so many years! It is amazing that we are about to embark on Sticker Train 18! I am so Blessed and thankful God brought us all together to begin with, of course, and that He helped further our friendships and love of stickers, too, through our wonderful sticker trains. I pray each of you either from long ago trains, current ones, or both, have had a positive and fun experience.
I have prayed about the Sticker Trains for 2018 for a while now. Before Sticker Train 18 heads off, I want to be upfront with all of you lovely ladies and say that Sticker Train 18 will be my final train as is. I need to take Jesus' Hand with this and move forward. I do pray we can still do the trains in a sense just not as often (or back to back to back) and in a MUCH smaller and simpler manner, let me explain.
I am thinking right now of in January, 2018 putting up a sign up list for Valentine's Day. Pretend as with our Train 18, 16 friends sign up. I would divide everyone into 4 groups of 4. I would ask that each group take charge of their own group so I am not responsible for all 4 :) Let's say one group consists of Jeanne, Nancy, Janet, and I. We would EACH and at the SAME time start a card for someone else in our group of 4. So Jeanne would start a card for Nancy. Nancy would start a card for Janet. Janet would start a card for me. I would start a card for Jeanne. Each card would circulate among three friends to sign and I would guess within a few weeks max, reach the end person :) No more almost three months per train. As far as stickers go, each rider in the above example would contribute ONE sheet of Valentine's stickers to each train. So, in the end, Jeanne would receive a card with three sheets of stickers that was signed by Nancy, Janet, and I. P.S. Since Jeanne's birthday is in January, I would have her card be a birthday one that I'd decorate with Valentine stickers :) Does this make sense?
Remember from eons ago my initial example of Mickey, Minnie, Pooh and Tigger? :D I want the new trains to feel like that! Simple and inviting, much more personal too due to only 4 members. Not too mention a whole lot quicker in process and yes, much less work for me. Of course we would change up groupings each time. I right now see us trying this a few times a year with postcards over the Summer. A huge shout out of thanks once more to Jeanne for all her help with the postcard swaps! I am super busy over Summer with church camps and just don't always have the time on here. Jeanne was (and is :D)! awesome and so kind to have stepped up to run them. I also thank all of you for creating postcard fun.
Please post here or let me know if this sounds like something you'd like to try. Remember we do not need to commit to it more than once if for whatever reason it does not work out!
Finally, I do want to be very clear and say if any of you would like to take over the Sticker Trains in a similar way to what we have going currently, you have my Blessings! I would however ask that the train number (should you choose to still call it Sticker Train) begin over with #1 so it would be clear to everyone that the process was a brand new (old) one.
Saturday hugs and God Bless You!
P.S. Besides Valentine's Day, perhaps we could do small grouping for Easter or later Spring/May and then again in the Autumn or even for Christmas. Up to all of you :)
