Just curious. I have noticed that the "tour guide" button on my account page disappeared a long time ago. I was wondering is that was just because the system decided I've been here more than long enough to get by on my own, or if it was done away with completely. You tour guides still out there helping the newbies?

Just a guess but maybe the tour guide that was assigned to you stepped down? Instead of assigning you another TG, they probably just took the link off so you wouldn't PM him/her.

Hey! Good answer. I never thought of that one. You've been here longer than me, Rhonda. Do you still have access to your tour guide?

My original tour guide resigned. The button just disappears, no notice and no replacement. Although we hope you know to find us under Live Help.

Any member whose original TG is still a TG will have that button.   ...And then there's Live Help for the rest of us :-)

There should be a button on top of your Personal Message page. If your Tour Guide is still active....

Yes, as all of the above have posted.  There are still Tour Guides here, and new members are assigned an active Tour Guide when they sign up and you will see that Tour Guide's name with a PM button at the top left side of your Personal Messages page.  But if your assigned Tour Guide leaves Tour Guiding or leaves PBS, then that Tour Guide's name will disappear off of your PM page.  No replacement Tour Guide is put up and there is no notification.

Any member can access any Tour Guide, however.  Members are not limited to their "personal" Tour Guide.  Simply find a member with one of the Tour Guide icons, and send them a PM, or see Tour Guides that are actually online at the time you have your question by going to Live Help and you can PM one of them for a response.  (Get to Live Help by clicking on Help Center at the top of any page, then clicking on Live Help link from the dropdown menu.)

Note that Live Help is not Live Chat; Tour Guides do not respond instantly but instead receive a PM from you and they respond back via PM.  The Live Help isn't immediate interactivity, but instead refers to help from a Live source as opposed to something like the Help Center which is an inanimate source.

Thanks for the info everyone. I was just wondering if the missing button meant that they no longer assigned a personal tour guide to members.
