I had a WL book come up. I accepted as soon as I saw it. The sender waited almost the full 5 days to accept and then picked the furthest day out to mail. I ordered the book on August 30th and it was supposed to be mailed by September 8th. It still shows that the sender hasn't sent the book.

During this time, I had an order from my shelf which I sent and has been received and this person hasn't even mailed my book out.

I realize that people don't get on line everyday and don't go to the post office every day but we're going on 2 weeks and the book still isn't in the mail.

Thanks for letting me rant a little.

Frustrating, I know.  Maybe they mailed it but forgot to click the button.

If they don't mail it by tonight, the transaction will be canceled and you'll go back on the wish list. Sorry about that.

Yeah - that same scenario happened to me - but the worst part was I was put back at the end of the WL !!  Really stinks.  I have to wait through the list now and I'm further back than I was when I started.  (blowing Calvin-type rassspberry)

Paige, it might not be the sender's fault.  It could be "Wishlist Limbo" where the poster can not get a book back until a wisher accpts it.

If a book is in "Wishlist Limbo" for a long time, the sender may have other things to do.  I know that I had a situation where if the next wisher wasn't prompt in accepting, they could have waited within hours of the 5 day limit for the book to be accepted.  Because I usually only go to the post office one day a week, they would have had to wait for that, too.  Fortunately, they accepted quickly, and they only had to wait for me to mail.

Margaret -- if you were put back on the wish list in the wrong place, send feedback! If a wish list order is canceled, you are supposed to go back to #1.

Cathy, that was my impression too, but didn't happen, I thought maybe it was different when the "sender" just timed out rather than turned down the request.  I will email R&R and ask about it.  Thanks,

Margaret

It was my understanding that if the Wisher just cancels, the Poster will go back to the head of FIFO, but the Wisher loses their spot. If the Poster is the one to cancel, the Wisher goes back to the head of the wisher line and the book is removed from the Poster's list. I think the system wants you to let it do its thing and not cancel orders before they are timed out. NO?

Yes, that's right Melanie. The person who cancels is the one who gets "punished" by losing their place.
