I read this to my family in about an hour. We loved it. We were disappointed to learn that while this story is based on fact the main characters actual events are not based entirely on a real persons life. While I believe that some events written about are heresay facts others are beefed up for the books effect. It didnt matter. We loved it. I give it a 3 for historical value and a 3.5 for its entertainment. I hope you enjoy it too.

A delightful book! Short read, though. A young girl is among the first settlers in 1609 from England to Virginia. She accounts for her first days in America in a diary which she sends back to England for her twin brother. Very much worth the read. A few user notes in pencil pertaining to the history, otherwise the book is in good shape.
