Anyone read this one yet?

For Mack McKinley and his team of GhostWalker killing machines, urban warfare is an art. But despite a hard-won knowledge of the San Francisco streets, Mack knows from experience that too many things can still go wrong. Danger was just another part of the game—and now he’s come face-to-face with a woman who can play just as tough.

She’s Jaimie, a woman with a sapphire stare so potent it can destroy a man. Years ago she and Mack had a history—volatile, erotic, and electric. Then she vanished. Now she’s walked back into Mack’s life, as a spy with more secrets than are good for her. Against all odds, she’s hooking up with Mack one more time to take on an enemy that could destroy them both, or bring them back together in one hot, no-holds-barred adrenaline rush.

I decided to ring in the New Year reading this new release last night.  Unfortunately, it didn't make for a memorable "celebration".  I'd give it 3 stars. Not horrible, but definitely not great.  Lots of emotional angst that's repeated ad nauseum.  The book is about 423 pages long and she could have easily cut 100 with no noticeable loss. If you are hooked on the series, you probably need to read it.  But I wouldn't get my hopes up for a great read. Then again, different tastes have different takes on what makes a great book.

Anyone else read it and want to comment?

I have not read that one yet, but have found that on several of her books she does ad nauseum emotional angst  or sex that could be deleted to make a better read.

Like any series, they get too far away from the original story line.   I loved the first 2 teams, but this one just gets on my nerves.   What ever happened to getting all the girls (flowered names) and helping them (team 1).  I even liked the 2nd team, expecialy the Norton twins.   This book just is bumming me out.  I haven't finished it yet and I keep looking for excuses to read other books, so I don't know when I will finish it.  If I ever finish it, I will come back and let everyone know what I thought of it!!:(

It was truly disappointing.  To make it even worse, I have it on mail order but for some reason decided I couldn't wait and went a bought a copy (full price!) from the bookstore just as they closed New Year's eve. So now, I'll have TWO copies of this book.
