i hope life was not this hard for the early settlers of our country. Wonderful, suspenseful story about well developed, colorful characters. Love it almost as much as Lonesome Dove.
McMurtry wraps up his Lonesome Dove cycle definitively as he writes of the final days of many of his characters, with some unexpected resolutions, wrapped around the story of an aging Captain Call on the trail of a cold-blooded killer.
A sequel to "Lovesome Dowe"...A very good book on it's own, but loses in comparasion with the first one.
