I posted a book that was wishlisted by two people. The first person must have passed it up and it moved on to the second. She had requester conditions on the book, including no ex-library copies and this is an ex-library book, so now it is moved back to the first person. Is there any way to get out of the FIFO queue?

It's possible that it's moved on to a third person.  Hopefully, it'll be accepted this time.

Actually, it hasn't. I recognize the user name as the first person the book was reserved for when I posted it. I think it's just going to keep bouncing back and forth between these two wishers.

Maybe the first person didn't have credits that time but this time does.  If it goes back to the second person, I would PM her and explain what is happening.  It's possible that she might make an exception on her RC.   If not, then I guess you just keep going back and forth until some other person wants the book.

What is the book, maybe I want it?  ;)

I didn't think it could go back to someone who has declined it. I'd go with Ray's guess about the credits..

When there are only two wishers, you can get stuck in this type of loop. Until they take it off of their WL and allow your book to get requested the loop can continue. I've been on the receiving end of that kind of loop before because of my RCs. One I just removed my RCs and accepted the book, the other one I had to move to my reminder list and watch for her copy to leave the system.

It may have timed out on the 1st person and they re-WL'd it when they came back onto the computer.  Maybe they lost power for a few days or fogot to use the vacation hold or something.

I think the problem is solved now because there's no activity on my account at all. I think the two people who had it wishlisted may have reminder listed it for now and are waiting for my copy to be requested by someone else (if it ever gets requested). Thanks for all of the responses. I'm not sure exactly what happened but the first person didn't time out because it wasn't even 24 hours from the time I posted the book until it moved on to the second person. Ray, the book in question is The Beauty Myth by Naomi Wolf.

If a book transaction has been declined for RC, I don't think the PBS computer will offer the book to that member again.

I ordered a book that the sender refused for RC, and as long as that was the only copy in the system the computer wouldn't let me order it.

This has been changed Denise. The system does allow a person to change their RCs and re-request the same book now.

In the past when we couldn't reorder, the system still couldn't handle the 2 wisher situation and would continue to cycle through the 2 wishers regardless of how many times the poster denied the RCs.

I think that only works if you change or turn off your RC. If you have rcs and request the only copy and it's turned down for RCS then it won't let you request again until that copy is gone-unless you turn your RCS off or change them. THat is my understanding anyway.  Maybe they changed that too.  It won't even let you WL it because technically a copy is available.
