I have a copy of Atlanta Scenes - Photojournalism in the Atlanta History Center Collection that has Style Sample written at the top of the cover and Order Number 165843 Cover-Doc 12 on the edge of the cover.  This book is on someones wish list. am I able to post this book?  I haven't posted it yet, it is still on my TBR list.  Thanks for any information.

Is it an advanced copy of the book?  ARC aren't postable. That "Style Sample" is what makes me wonder this.

I agree with Mary, I would be leery of posting anything that had "Sample" on it, or "order #" which would indicate it might have been an advanced copy for booksellers from the publisher. In looking at the cover as listed on Amazon, I don't see any of the things you mention (either "style sample" or "order number" on the cover, so I wouldn't list it.

You could post it in your signature or in teh book bazaar and ask a credit for it. But you have to disclose that it might be an advance copy.  You can do this with unpostable WL books. You just can't post it to WL and then ask people if they want an unpostable.

Is the length of the book the same as what is on Amazon (128 pp.)? I'm asking because "Style Sample" sounds much like an internal publisher's document that might go to various departments and possibly the author regarding the layout of the book, so that everyone could agree on how it should look at the end and conform to it along the way. But it typically would not be the entire book. I agree with others though, I wouldn't post it to my shelf.

I love a woman who can spell the word "leery".  **sigh**  :)

This might be a situation where I would "advertise" to find out who is wishing for the book (Bizarre or appropriate forum) and then PM the person and make your swap a "private" affair.  It sounds to me like the book that you have, strictly speaking, is unpostable.  Maybe the wisher will find a book on your shelf to order and you can send this one along as a "freebie".  Good luck!

Thank you all for the information.  I will take your advice and list it as a unpostable on my signature line.

Thank you!
