I'm proud of myself. I figured out who the killer was before the "third act" *smile*. This was an interesting story. The characters were well written, I'm mean talk about a tortured hero, and the mystery and romance were pretty good too.

Sam Spade meets Tori Carrington? Alan's chapters are written in first person like in an old detective book, complete with addiction to bourbon and rumpled clothes ... Molly's chapters are usual third person. Not my cup of tea.

This book by Toni Carrington just didn't touch something in me....

It is set in New Orleans, over Holloween week. The main problem I had with this book was the setting. I have been waiting for someone to set a book here since the hurricane. This one never mentions Katrina, or the aftermath. Just New Orleans business as usual.

It is about a detective that is on his way out because of a couple of bad choices in his life. And the twin sister of a murder victim. He is a man that is lost in a dark place in his life, his desire of the drink is getting out of contol, he had a bad choice affair with his captain's wife, his baby sister is missing, (she is 21 but still the baby) and then his ex-wife, who remained friends with, tells him about himself, then ends up dead... He keeps pushing Molly way, but then turning to her when can't resist her, but keeps emtion out of it. And Molly lets him.

Eventually they find the killer, and our detective finished cleaning up himself and went after the woman he loved, who had gone back to Toledo.

Blazing romance set in the French Quarter and New Orleans. Molly shadows Alan while he tries to solve her sister's murder. One HOT book.

Part of the "Dangerous Liasons" series, set in New Orleans' French Quarter.

A bit dark for my taste, but still a good romantic read.

The French Quarter: when darkness falls, the games begin...

The Game: Submission

The Players:
Alan Chevalier, homicide detective
Molly Laraway, murder victim's twin

The Object of the Game: Give your lover all you've got...but take even more.

When sexy Molly Laraway shows up asking about her dead sister's murder investigation, hardened detective Alan Chevalier tells her to go home and let him do his job. But with the oh-so-gorgeous lady saying she won't leave his side until he solves the case, he decides she could be useful to him on the beat during the day, and in bed at night.

Molly's no fool. She knows the tough-as-nails New Orleans detective spells trouble. But he's the only one who can track down the "Quarter Killer." Besides, something about this darkly attractive man makes her want a taste of danger. And she has no doubt that taste will only whet her appetite....
