Sue Grafton is coming to town for a book signing Sept. 17th for W Is For Wasted, being published this week by Putnam.

The local newspaper ran an interview with the author, and the lead-off question was "Twenty-six books? Really?"  I love her reply:  "Hey, don't blame me, I didn't think it would work!  Looking back, I can see what a cheeky undertaking it was.  I am blessed."

She also told the interviewer that her eighth novel, A Is For Alibi, was her "ticket out of Hollywood".  (She did a 15-year stint there.)

She is an interesting lady.  Sue G. is the daughter of detective novelist C.W. Grafton. She wrote screenplays for TV movies before her Alphabet series.
