WILL THEY FIND THEIR HEARTS DESIRES OR WILL HEARTBREAK TEAR THEM APART?
Two men. One woman. A choice that can make her or break her. A woman you'll root for every step of the way. A love story you'll never forget.
Wow. This was great! When I read the description on the back, I thought I knew what it was about. I was wrong. It was better. You go through a range of emotions reading this book and I couldn't put it down. Ignore what your gut tells you when you read the title. This is definitely one of those "you can't judge a book from its cover" types.
I did not want to like this book. I bought it at a buck-a-bag booksale and left it sitting on my shelf for months. I picked it up out of boredom, and then (sigh),I couldn't put it down. I thought about it while I was at work, I read a page or two at stoplights, and I found myself turning off the American Idol finale just so I could finish the book. This story is different from what I have been reading lately--sweet and memorable. It reminded me of the best of Dorothy Garlock, with that little underlying edge that only Kleypas could write. I found myself caring about Liberty, Hardy, Gage, Churchill, and Carrington more than I have cared about other characters since I read my first Kathleen Woodiwiss book. 4 Stars!!

OH MY OH MY... I originally got this book from the library, HOWEVER, after reading chapter 7, I knew it was going to be a favorite and purchased it. Lisa Kleypas is such a gifted writer. This is my first book of hers, and I can't wait to read more books by her, historical or contemporary.
I wasn't sure I would enjoy reading a book in first person, but I did. I felt everything Liberty felt, anger, frustration, butterflies, pain, tiredness and tears. This story was especially enjoyable, as I could appreciate all that she went through.
If you have not read this story, it's in paperback now, GO GET IT.
This is Kleypas' first outing in the contemporary market. She does not disappoint.
I won't say what the book is about, but it's not what you think. Give yourself plenty of time to read it because you are not going to put it down. It's a really great book and I truely hope that one character gets his own story.
I guess you can consider this to be a pre-qual toKleypas' book "Blue Eyed Devil" - for those of you who have read blue eyed devil-which i read prior to this and absolutly loved by the way!--it doesnt really matter which one you read (or listen to in this case) first eventhough blue eyed devil does technically pick up where sugar daddy leaves off. And the only similarities to the books is that the same characters in both books & in both books Hardy Cates romances the Heroine/main femail character (He romances Liberty in Sugar Daddy and Haven in Blue eyed Devil (Haven's name is only mentioned in Sugar Daddy but she doesnt make an appearance until Blue eyed Devil)
This audio CD was 5 discs (about 6 hours)and had me entertained and engaged from beginning to end.... The narrator portrayed sweet yet sassy & headstrong Texan Liberty perfectly. The book is a great combo of ROmance, Love, heartbreak (relationship and family based) & Suspense (there were many unexpected surprises and shocking family secrets revealed that brings an already entertaining plot up several notches to the point that I would sit in my garage after i got home for at least 10 min before reluctantly shutting my car off and having to wait until my next road trip to continue the story (luckily i listened to it on 2 3 hour road trips so i didnt have to wait too long to find out what happened next))
I really liked this one and would reccomend it to anyone wishing to be entertained during their next flight or car ride!!
