I don't normally read romance novels, but on a friend's recommendation I read this one, and she was right! The characters are well thought out and unique, the plot was intriguing, the romance was believable (no whimpering heroine falling for some brute with a heart of stone and a brain to match in this book!) By the time the heroine and hero got together I really believed they were made for each other. And on top of all that, the heroine learns something about her past that helps her make vital decisions about her present and future.

Tina Mills gets the shock of her life when she learns that she's actually the daughter of someone her late father had an affair with-not the woman she grew up calling Mom. In the guise of her job as a documentary filmmaker, she begins the process of locating her birth mother. But Sugartown's handsome police chief, Colby Evans, is suspicious of her motives and watches her closely. Tina's checking him out just as closely--and they both like what they see.
