When you order a book, you get an email entitled:

"Request Accepted: Book Name."

"Accepted" in this case means "Accepted into system."

At that point, the status of the book is "Waiting for Member."

Once the member agrees to mail the book, the status is changed to

"Accepted"

At this point, "Accepted" means "The member has accepted your request."

No big deal, but it's a little confusing.  Since I don't use PBS often, I have to check to remind my self what the terms mean.

Perhaps this would be better:

1. Request Received

2. Waiting for Member

3. Accepted by Member

This is something I have been complaining to myself about for a long time....... I totally and completely agree with your interpretation.  The "accepted" email is very ambiguous.

That sounds like a great idea - "Request Received" is much clearer.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who gets confused by this! Whenever I see a "request accepted" email, at first I think it means the sender accepted the request.

That used to bug me too, but then I realized you can turn off the email for "request accepted."  Go to My Account-->Settings-->Email Settings, and select the ones you don't need email notification on.  It always got my hopes up only to dash them when I remembered what it really meant.  :)

The language is very confusing.  It's also confusing on the DVD site as well.
