My wife is a HUGE Bertrice Small fan.  She's been reading Small's books since she was a teenager, and has read all of them by now.  She's been looking for something similar to World of Hetar, and keeps getting bad recommendations from her friends for various Urban Fantasy books that lack the  explicitness of Small's books.  She's read all of the Meri Gentry books and liked those a lot as well, but again, she's already read them all.  She read a little of the Anita Blake books, but didn't enjoy them enough to keep with the series.

Any other good erotic fantasy writers that you would recommend?

Rich - Has she read the Black Dagger Brotherhood series? That keeps getting a lot of good reviews (I haven't read them though.) I'll ask the ladies of the DOS chat to stop by here and maybe add some suggestions.

Have her try The Children of the Monere series by Sunny

Mona Lisa Awakening (Monere: Children of the Moon, Bk 1) (Paperback)

Mona Lisa Blossoming (Monere: Children of the Moon, Bk 2) (Paperback)

Mona Lisa Craving (Monere: Children of the Moon, Bk 3) (Paperback)

Mona Lisa Darkening (Monere: Children of the Moon, Bk 4) (Paperback)

BTW, I have absolutely loved all Bertrice Small books.  Your wife has great taste!

OOOO I love Bertrice Small novels and have every book of hers in print (been reading her since I was a teen too).  I cannot exactly suggest any paranormal like the World of Hetar but my husband I have been reading a series by Yasmine Galenorn.  The Series is the Outerworld Series.  One sister is a witch, one is a werecat and th third is a vampire.  She might enjoy the series too

How about the Black Jewels Series by Anne Bishop.  That world setting is similar to Hetar but a bit darker.

Just typed up a big post with links and all, and managed to mess it all up. LOL at myself.

Anyways, has she tried the Kushiel's Legacy series by Jacqueline Carey? The first book is Kushiel's Dart. It is fantasy with lots of great characters, plotting and intrigue. I wouldn't call it erotica, but it is edgy.

Or the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews (first book Magic Bites)? This one is more paranormal/magic/shapeshifter, set in some future/magic day Atlanta. Also very good.

I haven't read any Bertrice Small - looks like a new author to look into!

I highly recommend reading a Bertrice Small book, Jessica. Especially, if you like a historical setting and a heroine that goes through alot of crap before she gets her HEA.

Thanks ladies!  I've added a lot of books to "my" wish list already, but keep them coming!  I'd like to find a few different series for her to try.

Ughh.  I hate Bertrice Small. In Adora, the heroine is repeatedly raped by the men who supposedly love her.    If you'd like to try better historical romance/ erotica writers, I'd suggest Sylvia Day, Robin Schone (the Lover) and Emma Holly (Beyond Seduction), as well as Susan Johnson (Outlaw & Pure Sin).

Misty,

I love that one series by her, and I will be sad when the series is done, but from the looks of the last report from Yasmine there will be more books in the series then the original 7.

Claudia,

My wife has read all of the Emma Holly "midnight" books and liked those too.  Maybe I'll see if she's interested in her other series.
