Looking for some inspiration - I'm in my 40s and looking to go back into the workplace.  Books don't have to be about that per se, but something that will motivate/inspire.  Thanks!

One of the most inspiring women-in-business biographies that I've ever read is Estee Lauder's autobiography. It's fascinating--and inspiring!

Some ideas:

  • Madam Secretary:  A Memoir, Madeleine Albright
  • Personal History, Katherine Graham
  • Sum It Up, Pat Summit
  • Lean In, Sheryl Sandberg - I've not read this, but it's getting a lot of attention
  • Florence Nightingale:  The Woman and Her Legend, Mark Bostridge
  • Juliette Gordon Low:  The Remarkable Founder of the Girl Scouts, Stacy Cordery
  • The Little Bookstore of Big Stone Gap:  A Memoir of Friendship, Community, and the Uncommon Pleasure of a Good Book, Wendy Welch
  • Ladies of Liberty:  The Women Who Shaped our Nation, Cokie Roberts

Tess listed some great ones: I've read the Albright memoir, Katherine Graham's book, and, most recently, the story of the Little Bookstore. I'm going to check out a couple others.
