So I am staring Katie MacAlister's "Light Dragons" series this week so I can read The Unbearable Lightness of Dragons, and I am 2 books away from reading Karen Marie Moning's Shadowfever in her Fae books.

Can anyone recommend a 3rd new release book that they think I would enjoy? (preferably one that I don't have to read all the other books in the series to understand what's happening?)

Shadow Fever I liked a lot. I liked Chloe Neills Hard Bitten. Are you readign any series that the next one has come out. I am catching up on my paranormal series and have been using them for new releases. Pale Demon by Kim Harrison, River Marked by Patricia Briggs. Can anyone think of new series that came out this year that Josie could pick up?

Thea Harrison's Dragon Bound?  I haven't read it, but it has pretty good reviews.    Coleen Gleason's new vampire series is just starting.

There's also Jennifer Ashley's Shifters Unbound series.  It's good, and she's only on the second book.  The first one, Pride Mates was released last year, but is being re-released in July.  Primal Bonds came out this March.  Those would also stand alone reasonably well.

I'm editing this, because I just noticed that Michelle has an extensive list of new paranormal/UF books for 2011: here

Thank you! Thank you!

This is a good advice.  I had both Dragon Bound and Hard Bitten on my wish list too, so great to know we are all thinking alike.

Robin Owens just started a new series with Enchanted No More.  If you liked her previous ones it might be a good choice.
