So I have this cover, and I don't really like it. I'm not sure what I was thinking when I selected it, but I am definitely not happy with it. I went shopping for some covers tonight, and couldn't find anything that I liked. So I'm wondering where you all got your Nook covers, which ones you've tried and not liked, and which ones you're in love with. I have one in mind, but it's $60 +shipping, and I"m just not sure I can commit myself to that until I know if there is something else out there I might like, somewhere that I haven't looked yet.

This is the cover I have-

I love it. The M-Edge light slides in the cover and I can read in the dark anywhere without worrying about whether or not I have a light.

I saw that one at the store, but I don't like the stitching on it. They only had the black one, and I wanted a different color if it was that case I'd go for.

Also, you have to buy the light separately, don't you, for that case?

(On a side note, how are you liking Outside In? I'm going to check out Inside Out through my library pretty soon, and I have Inside Out waiting for me on NetGalley.)

NetGalley is where I got it. It's awesome. The formatting is a bit weird. But other than that, it's great! Yes, you have to buy the light separately, but I got both as Christmas presents so cost wasn't an issue for me. I never even noticed the stitching until you said something. Doesn't bother me at all.

I'm really picky about stitching and just didn't like how it looked against the black. I wonder if I would have felt differently if they'd had it available in another color.

This is the case I am leaning toward, though. I just wish they'd had one in the store! Now I have to wait and budget for it. Argh.

Glad you're liking that book! I'm really eager to start reading it, but have a few other things I'd like to finish reading first!

I splurged for a leather Oberon cover and I absolutely love it. http://www.oberondesign.com/

I love it even more after seeing some of the covers for sale in the stores.

I bought a clip on light, the mighty bright flex one (one of the members here recommended it), for use when I read at night. http://www.amazon.com/Mighty-Bright-XtraFlex2-Light-Adaptor/dp/B001CJNWX0/ref=pd_ybh_rec_home_2?pf_rd_p=279612301&pf_rd_s=right-1&pf_rd_t=1501&pf_rd_i=ybh&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0RS25XBKBQRY888CE3V0

I have this one.  I like it, but I want one that closes.

Jennifer

I have the one you have. I like it I do wish it came in another color. I like that I can stand it up and read and I read at lunch at work. I also am left handed and hold my books or nook in my left hand and alot of the covers flipped open on the left side and it would have been thick to hold in my left hand. So for me the one you have works best.

I have an Oberon cover, too.  It was expensive, but absolutely worth it.  It's very well made, a real work of art.  I have no doubt that it will last longer than my Nook, and possibly me.

I have 2 covers that I bought on Etsy.  I used their Alchemy service, and received 6 responses!  All the prices were reasonable too, I believe I paid between $20-$25 plus shipping for each case.  I love Etsy!  laugh

I got my cover on ebay for $15 and love it so far! I wanted an M-Edge one, but the price was a little more than I had at the time and I really needed a cover fast with my little ones around. So now I finally feel a little bit safe leaving it on the table or something. 1?mpt=[CacheBuster]&adtype=1&size=1x1&type=4&campid=5335864214&toolid=10001&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2Fws%2FeBayISAPI.dll%3FViewItem%26item%3D180489361597%26ssPageName%3DSTRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT Here's the link to the one I got. They ship really fast and it fits great.

I had certain qualifications for a cover, so I was a little choosy.

1. I wanted one that had the straps inside vs the clips to hold it in place
2. I wanted some kind of closure, in case it fell off something so it wouldn't fall open and land on the screen
3. I wanted the cover's corners rounded and not square (heard complains of the square corners catching and getting bent on stuff)
4. I wanted at least 1 pocket inside for gift cards/cleaning rag/slide style book light/whatever
5. not too expensive

6. Oh, and I wanted the closure to be on the front of the cover. I know it sounds like a "duh" thing to want, but on Ebay there are covers with a magnetic clip closure that closes in the back of the cover. That's retarded to me. How would you set it down? Upside down every time? That would drive me bonkers!

Oh, and I found two different book lights at my Dollar Tree for $1 each. When I open my cover, I fold the front around the backside and can clip the lights to the cover. That way it's not anywhere near the Nook and I don't have to worry about scratches. One of the book lights' clips is really slim, so it also functions as a slip-in style (so it can slip into the inside pocket or in the pages of a book).

I bought this one (it was a few dollars less when I bought it in December)

http://www.amazon.com/Barnes-Reader-CaseCrown-Double-Memory/dp/B0033T7274/ref=sr_1_24?ie=UTF8&qid=1295923531&sr=8-24

I like it. I wanted something that would hold the charging cord.

I really didn't like any of the covers for the nook. I wanted one with a built in light, but the weight and style of that one just didn't work for me. I am hoping they come out with a better line of lighted ones eventually so I just got this one http://gifts.barnesandnoble.com/Bleecker-Cover-in-Tobacco/e/9781615598755/?cds2Pid=36189 and I keep a light wedge tucked into the elastic strap on the front. The light wedge works perfect for the Nook.

M-Edge has 'buy one, get one 50%' right now.  I have the Platform Jacket for my Sony and love it.  They have so many cool covers, it's hard to decide.

My family gave me this one.  I like it so far.  I wanted the style that opens like a book.

http://www.amazon.com/Monster-Synthetic-Leather-Protector-Accessories/dp/B003XTFVO0/ref=pd_cp_e_3

I do wish it had the leg in the back to stand it up.  I like to read when I eat and it's difficult to see with the Nook flat on the table.
