Anyone have any suggestions on books that are Historical with humor? Preferrably Scottish? It doesn't all have to be humorous, just with plenty of wit.

Thanks in advance.

I'm reading Forbidden Magic (beverley) and it has a lot of humorous moments; not scottish though.  Also got excellent reviews.

My recommendation isn't truly historical, or scottish:  The Corset Diaries by Katie Macallister.   The main character is a "skinny challenged" woman who gets conned into taking part of a reality show: living for a month on an English Estate, circa 1879.  No electricity, no hot water, and dressing as they did at that time.  Of course, she falls in love...  Very funny book.   This is as close as I get to historicals.

OMG this book was so funny.  Not Scottish though. The Devlish Pleasures of the Duke (or something like that) by Jillian Hunter. It's the latest Boscastle book. I was laughing so hard I had tears coming out my eyes.

OMG -- just finished "Forbidden Magic" and i've never laughed so hard in my life.  Hilarious characters, situations and clever funny pets.    The final scene had me bent over in laughter.
