I loved Ken Follet's "Pillars of the Earth", Pete Hamil's "Forever" and John Steinbeck's "East of Eden". Are there any similar books that you love and can recommend? I just picked up Ken Follet's "World Without End" but would also like to explore some newer authors.

Thanks!

Mmmmm - let me think.   It seems to me that what all of these books have in common is that they are all sagas that cover many years in the story - and are (for the most part) historical fiction.

The two recommendations that spring to mind immediately are the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon and the North and South series by John Jakes.

I'll be back if I think of more.

You might want to ask this question in the Historical Fiction group also.
