Does anyone have any suggestions for some new horror authors to read?  Someone who isn't as well known as the 'mainstream' authors?  I love finding new authors to read in the horror genre, so if anyone has any suggestions, let me know.  Thanks.  :)

I don't read horror books so I have no titles/authors to suggest. But I do suggest posting this in the Horror forum as well -- where folks are presumably more knowledgeable about this genre.

Ever tried Joe Hill? This is Stephen Kings son, and I love his books!

I suggest Hater by David Moody.   I'm not even a horror fan usually, but the book was gripping, creepy and a page turner for sure.

I own Heart Shaped Box.  I'm debating on Horns right now.

I'll have to look into David Moody.  Thanks.  :)

Sarah Pinborough is quite good and I second Joe Hill.  I aso like Scott Nicholson, Chuck Morgue, and Tony Burgess.  Tony Burgess's Pontypool Changes Everything, is brilliant and the companion movie, Pontypool, is a nice addition to that particular world. I say companion because it's not a movie version of the book, but more like a short story added after the fact that focuses on one small part of the story that's not part of fhe original book.  Kind of hard ot explain, but I highly recommend reading/seeing both.

I've read one book by Sarah Pinborough and thought it was pretty decent.  I've been debating on getting another one.  lol. I've also read two of Scott Nicholson's books - The Farm and The Red Church.  Both were a bit hard to get into, but I did enjoy them.

I'll have to check out Tony Burgess.

Pontypool is airing on The Movie Channel, June 1 @ 1:35 AM. Thought I'd mention it since I talked about it in an earlier post.
